My opinion was strongly out of context. Let me explain and maybe this will be an issue resolved.
1. I'm speaking about Reserves and part-time army goers. Most full-time military chose that profession and were not *targeted* for those jobs. Even if they were, it was not for the reasons I stated before, but for their actual intelligence and ability to fit the needed positions(computer specialists are incredibly wanted, etc. I know many people personally in Iraq right now as systems managers).
2. I'm in support of these programs. Ignorance is not a *bad* thing, especially when the Army is out to educate and help people. That's their plan. Don't attack me because of that shit. I understand the policies of ROTC Scholarships and Army support in colleges well. A Junior/Senior in HS will understand it better than most, because I've looked to them as options.
3. In Lousiana we have TOPS Program. Maintaining an incredibly low GPA and ACT score gives you a full scholarship to any state school. Thus, you must have *extremely* low scores not to get them. However, some soldiers join the Army to support their medical school.

Dinav, I hope terrorists gangrape your mom and mail whats left of you to your father in a shoe box.
Why don't you go back to your fucking shack. I don't personally attack anyone here, I expect the same in return. Go fuck yourself.

More falicious assertions. If the Army targeted only the ignorant, they would not of had a successful ROTC programme at my high school, ranked on of the best in the nation. Again, your lack of experience and limited perceptions do not construct truth, they only reflect a small portion of it.
The ROTC at my school is nationally ranked as well. First in state. ROTC also houses most of the lower scoring students in my school, but the hardest working and devoted. They will get great ROTC scholarships and join the army as career soldiers, Not Reservists; which was what I meant more specifically.

But you did not say is WAS a real job. Perhaps it might interest you to know the great deal of work that soilders do during peace time. They certainly do not lollygag.
Hence me saying "some". I was talking about a small group, not a generalized army.

Faliciuous assertion, how is it that an ignorant person would be perfect for the military? Ignorant in what regard? to authority? to economics? what capacity must be diminished in such a fashion to tailor someone for military service?
People are all ignorant until informed. That is the nature of ignorance. Once they are taught and informed they are no longer ignorant. The Army targets those who NEED that help, and teaches and informs them and help them. They provide jobs and education to those who can not afford it and want it.

I don't really feel that I'm stupid but I might be ignorant for replying to this post.
Do you know what stupid and ignorant mean? Ignorant is just lack of knowledge, and can not be blamed by anything. Stupid is the inability to learn. I never called anyone stupid, because I'm not stupid enough to do that. As I stated, people are all ignorant until informed.
Cyn, I respect all life and people. I lose respect for those unwilling to do their jobs, and that's where my post originated. It's quite obvious your husband not only did his job without issue, but that he was good at it. There's nothing I disrespect about him.

My father served in the vietnam war and when i read shit like this, from some PUNK kid, about how my father, and every other person who has and IS serving the country, was some target of a Military campaign to recruit ignorant ppl who couldnt get college scholarships.............
WHAT THE FUCK? I never said ANYTHING you're accusing me of. I never said the entire army EVER. I never even *talked* about Vietnam. And I also never said *exclusively* targetted ignorant. They targeted those who could not afford their own college, and who could not get *scholarships*. HERE, where I LIVE, that is ignorance. Not because everyone is smart, but quite the contrary, because our state average is so low that our TOPS program allows so many easy access to full scholarships.
Oh god, am I going to be trashed for people not reading stuff I posted again?
I'm sorry if I DID offend you. It wasn't meant to. It was meant to be a small comment on those who complain about soldiers going to war. As the marine ex-head of our ROTC said, "When you sign up, you know your job is to prepare and go to war. You can't complain about it, because it's your job."
I'm ready to drop the topic. Everyone took their shot at me unfairly. Most of you didn't read my posts past the first one. It's over.
To Vartik, fuck off.
