I know this is a noob question. but you don't learn unless you ask questions right? Well...

Since i'm poor and need to make alot of money really soon (Haubergeon) I was curious about what lvl i have to be to start hunting HNMs. And what are the ones i start off with?

You arn't near the level to be useful to bring down a hard HNM (excluding "Baby" HNMs like the two HNM rams in La Theine and Highlands). If you wanted to kill NMs for money, stick to the old ones like VE or Lizzy or Stroper...

Other ways could just be killing tons of tigers for fangs and hides. Other than that there's no real way to gain money fast....

A full alliance of 60's can take out the lil guys (Serket, Simurgh, Roc, etc) but it wouldn't be an easy fight. Since level 60 was the original level cap when those HNMs were added, they would be on par in difficulty with the HNMs you fight with full alliances of 75s, somewhat.

Go for Stroper. And if you get a drop make sure dar and lexy know it

I was out in GC last night before Serket popped, and I saw some guy recruiting for his lvl 55+ HNM LS.. seemed a bit odd to me, but then again i dont know what lvl half the HNMs are

I think you might be referring to ZeroEffect? They recruit 55+ with the idea that they won't be 55 until they stop playing and that they can grow together towards level 75 and endgame stuff.

So is 60 the lvl i try and start hunting those HNM you were talking about Ketrebu? Or much higher (maybe wait until i get into a HNM LS if i do?) lvl to help in the experience factor? Or just don't worry about it at all now and hunt Stropper (the heaviest camped SOB i've seen so far) and other small NM?

What do you all suggest, i'm not clear on it?

well, i wouldnt start hoping to be helpful for endgame ppl until atleast 65, even then you are still too low to even hit their mobs
As lvl 67, i have been doing a few ZMs wtih runefury, been asked to help claim serket, etc.... so really, just get good enough equip for yourself and become an EXP whore and sell yourself....

and for your sig, you need to get the model viewer or take screenshots with Fraps, ingame screenshots suck

if you want real gil, go to korroloka tunnel and fight slimes and gigas, you can bust out 15-20k an hour there easily, especially during NA prime time when nobody goes

most of the people who know how good it is for farming are JP, so just avoid farming during JP prime time and you'll be fine

back when i first got my hauberk, i camped tree cuttings for a week to get them. theres a suggestion for you, hard core tree cuttings or rolanberry 881. (this was back then though, tree cuttings have dropped in price now... i think, i dont keep tabs on these things anymore heh). GL with it, just farm a lot, you'll be glad you did, i would suggest 881

I would reccomend berries or tree cuttings too. Farming in the tower has become horrible since it's overrun with gilfarmers I think.

PS- Noodle, those sigs look sweet, can I have one?

well, (death) (No thanks!) if you happen to have whm lvl'd for sneak/invis, its worth a try, just expect to die.... kotee did this for about a week and died 20 times, made 400-500k though... another suggestion would be gusgen, pretty good spots(thats where i got my last 500k for my haubergeon)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. (what's 881?). I have been farming tree cuttings along with what i currently farm (just about everything in Beaudex), but the drop rate is super low, so i take what i can get. And i've been fishing on the side to try and bring in extra gil, but the rate of that skill up will take forever. But i'm gonna keep at it until i get it.

As for the sigs, i'm super jealous i'm not that talented (or have FFXI on a computer), so i'm gonna cry now, and take Chicken's sig he made for me (thanks a million.). If any more suggestions, don't hesistate to post.
