(probably asked 14343058039850 times, sorry)

question1: is this the best way for for DRK

1-59 DRK/WAR
60-75 DRK/THF (except if you have a THF/xxxx in your party)

question2: which WS do you use in most in various lv? (assuming my partner is a RNG)
in Dunes?
in Qufim?
in Kazham?
30-40?
40-50?
50-60? ... so on...

question3: do absorb-spell affected by INT? (should DRK has a set of INT+ items after lv40 or so?)

1-30 SJ matters not at all really. Sub Whm for all the difference it makes. 30-50 I'd personally sub theif unless you're needed to Trick for a real theif ( which is quite common), 50-66 I'd personally sub Warrior, 67+ Thief or warrior as you said. Just my imho, it depends some on the group too.

WS wise with a Ranger you'd probably do piercing arrow/sidewinder-> Slice/vorpal for distortion ( that works from 10-55+
You can also do Shadow of Death ( ew) or Guillotine-> Split shot/sidewinder for a good High level frag chain. only good from 60-66 though since after that you get light chain.

And obviously Arching -> Spinning 66+ for Light.

assuming you want to use Greatsword in an XP party in preperation for 66+ you can do. Frostbite/freezing -> Piercing arrow/siderwinder for Frag.
You can also use Hard slash instead of Slice for distortion. at the lower levels.

With a Weak Distortion chain, and a Moderately strong Frag chain I suggest gearing the chain towards the most powerful available magic burst.

I use greatsword all the time (scythe is 2nd priority) because GSD can open Distortion with Power Slash, and close it with Hard Slash.

WAR sub will make you do a ton more damage than THF before 60. I would definitely go with that, then make the switch to /THF at 60 or 65.

Well the thing is with a ranger, he would open up distortion, not the drk.

so I assume if I have a perm and I have a RNG DRK NIN setup... most of the time, it's going to be RNG > DRK SC? with a THF sj after 60 I will save my taru behind?

1-60 DRK/WAR
60-65 DRK/SAM
65-75 DRK/THF

For sure 65+ you need to sub thf, 60-65 I think SAM is best but its a hassle to level a sub job for a few levels, 1-60 it is questionable but I think war is byfar the best. Keep GSD and SCY both up although u will be using GSD 1-20 and SCY 20-66 in PTS, SCY and GSD 66/75 depending on the pt.

Well, i personally had Thf, and War lvled up to sub either. But my personal preference was

Drk/Thf for SA, and more Dex, and Agil.

I used Drk/War whenever anyone asks me to, or if we have a thf for SATA off Pld. But i think it's personal preference really. Don't let anyone else tell you how to play the job you want. Whatever works for you might not work for everyone else.

The Absorb line isn't effected by INT at all. It is however, part of the Dark Magic Skill line of spells. It's a set amount that gradually decreases over time. INT and MND are the most important stats aside from STR in determining WS damage 65+. INT for the Scythe set, MND for the GS.

There was a post a while back on Gamefaqs that had most of the stats used in WS dammage (can't find it now, got probably bumbed off). I remember that Int had around the same impact as Str on most Scythe/Gsword WS, mainly the elemental ones. Don't remember about MND though.

So yes, it might be a good idea to use Abs-Int/macro a bunch of int+ equip (RSE for example) before a WS to increase the damage (it would also make the BLMs bursts more powerfull, so it's win-win).

Ya, I usually go for STR more just because with the Absorb-STR spell, my + is almost as high as my base.

is that mean a Tarutaru WS is stronger since they have high INT? I don't really get it ... ^^;

No, it means that the lack of STR you have as taru is balanced out by your higher int.
