About 90% sure this is a BCNM30 KS drop, Prehistoric Pigeons, Waughroon Shrine, Atropos Orb. I have heard this same info from several different people, would only make sense. It is also said to drop Amity cape. You fight 6 Giant Birds so you need sleep, they do high damage and have high defense. The more you sleep the mobs the higher their sleep resistance goes up so you want to take them out fast.

If their roc types, I'm guessing only BRD song would sleep them.

Unless they are watered down verisons like the 6 scrops.. then anyone can sleep them. Only one way to find out... field trip!

Why don't they just make abjurations drop off fucking forest hares now.

The giant bird fight is much much togher than the scorpion one. Buzzluver and Dyeung and a few of them tried it, killed 2 birds then the birds got to the mages. Critical Hit the mages for 380 they said. They said the birds are pretty sleep resistant as well. Again this is all info I got from others, I haven't tried this one myself, but may do it soon.

Anyway, with birds it's best to have a BRD sleeper. A ninja, a melee, whm, blm, brd should be able to clean house. Or replace the whm with a taru rdm. For dmg/healing/more mp.

I think a taru RDM would be better, but the whm 2h is a life saver some times.

Ya, I agree. WHM would probably only be there to clean up with Raises and Raise mid battle if something went amiss.. Benediction is hardcore nice.

hmmm if you guys decided to try this and actually want a RDM taru, i'll go... i dont have a orb but i'll go for the hell of it cuase im bored latelly, i dont expect anything in return, if i manage to come up with 30 seals by then i'll get a orb but dont count on it

rangers just to piercing damage, for a 20% damage bonus on flying mobs, and so do dragoons

I dont think Roc-type bigbirds fall into that category though. I never noticed any extra damage on the Perytons in valley of sorrows at least.

What about 5 RNG + 1 BRD? Since RNG have bonus vs. birds, and BRD sleep them the best?

As far as I know it's still the old BC99 that drop abjuration now. They just expanded the drop list to include all of the loot found in the normal HNM fight plus some other crap.
