I'm 6'0" and ~185 lbs. but I have gained a little weight lately. To be honest, I have been trying to gain weight for about 11 years now. I have had this weird thing where I throw up all the time for no reason but every test I've had done shows that there is nothing wrong with me. I think it's stressed related because now that I'm single I haven't been throwing up much at all...

This thread is killing my self esteem; I should start working out and get toned. Yarr, you are an inspiration to us all.

only thing about being built small, its very difficult to gain bulk naturally because your muscles will tend to just get more and more cut. Of course, that might be the thing that you are going for, since chicks dig good muscle definition.

Actually youre right on the money gavin. Definition and Tone is what I am for. My shoulders are filling out quite well and my back is coming along to the point where my posture is improving.

I mean Ive only been doing this for two months so the changes I see now in tone are very subtle but they are there. The easiest place to see it is my shoulders and arms and chest (no more bitch tits.)

This sounds weird but do you have any before and after pics? I'm curious to see what two months of working out can do.

I kinda wish I did haha. I know there are alot of things like... I cant pinch fat on my legs anymore. when I sit down I can feel my stoumach folding differentling (yeah thats a better way of saying my rolls are different). I cant see a difference really because Ive been paying so much attention to it ever day. The way I can notice it is when I put on my old T-shirts and stuff. the necks, the sleves and the chest is alot more tight. I also had to get some belts and even some new pants. Im far from perfect yet, but 15lbs on a person whos far from "fat" or "over wieght" makes a hell of a difference.

You can as tal, as much as he hates me talking about it irl haha.

I havent seen Princess face to face since we split, so I think that would be the biggest thing considering before we split up the longest we ever spent apart was a few days, that was for five years. So really shes going to beable to tell better than anyone.

I'm like 6'0" 135 lbs, and i run 3 miles with a weight workout about 2-3 times a week (homework permitting). Don't feel bad if you don't weigh much. Being scrawny is always better than being overweight, and the ladies dig the tall, tone, and lanky.

Yarr, good for you--

I'm 15 and I've been going to the gym for over a year now...I feel so much better when I do and have more energy. During the summer days I hop on my bike after the gym and when I come back home I realize I've only taken in 900 calories that day, yet I was never hungry. Exercise can do amazing things.

Hey yarr Just thought Id drop in a little work out tip that I read in a Men's health mag and did. It said for smaller people(I was 150 lbs) to do 3 sets of 5 reps with heally high weight to build muscle fast. I did it and it really worked. I went from benching 90 lbs to doing 265 I got up to 60's on dumb bells, in 6 months of gym 6 days a week for about 1.5 hrs a day. Also if your not doing them now do reverse curls those thing are so awsome they realy tone up you bi's. I gained 10 lbs and lost 2 inches on my waist. It really got me solid as a rock. If your into using suppliments Get Cell-tech (creitine) and Nitro-tech(protine) Take them the way it says it really helps on the bulking up. Also Amino Acids are nice they help with the soreness that you will get from this workout. I got lazy and stopped going to the gym unfortunatly. It was really awsome and as soon as I get out of the Navy Im planning on hitting the gym again.

Nick

you know when you want to get more beefed up you should be taking in about or more than 1 gram of protein per pound you weigh, IE: you should be getting 125g of protein or more a day. Also, a lot of high protein foods are low in fat, light lean chicken and tuna. tuna is great (beware of the high mercury level), high protein, something like 30 grams or so per can.
Also you could take this supplement that i've been taking for a few months now, called whey protein. whey protein is supposedly the best type of protein for working out because out of all known protein types, your body can absorb whey protein the fastest and at the highest percent.

also, i dont believe in counting calories. Your body adjusts to burning a number of calories a day depending on how well you've built up your metabolism. when i can, i try to eat more spread out and snack a lot :D
take what you eat now, and spread it out throughout the day

metabolism is like a fire... feed it too much wood and you drown it out, too little and there's nothing to keep it going. you have to keep feeding it more wood at the right level and build up a larger fire

I dont really keep track of what I lift. I know most my free weights are with 25-35 lbs

um if you want to see a before and after you can go look at the IRL thread I took a picture for some friends last night and I was actually happy with the results.

Although for some reason when I look at some of the pictures I feel like im looking at someone else haha.

Anyway I should goto bed now.... my trainers gonna kill me if he finds out i got 4 hours of sleep the night before working out.

I started working out this semester at my school gym.

On Monday and Wednesday, I work out for about 45 min. I always start by running a mile on the treadmill (they have these cool treadmills that have a dvd player built in, but I have yet to remember to bring one). Next I switch between about 5 different machines to work strength training for upper/lower body, and I do curls with freeweights and also situps. The only thing I think I need more of is the benchpress. I'm gonna start on that next week.

Men's Health is the sh*t. I've learned so much reading that and Muscle and Fitness. My friends used to call it gay porn haha. I got lotsa crap for reading those. I guess having a magazine with shirtless guys on the cover can give people the wrong idea.

I dont read anything other than Nutrition data websites, scientific reports and studies and stuff like that. I have a trainer who sets up what Im suppose to do to get myself in shape and I can honestly say I look much better than I had imagined I would.

Personal Trainers are bloody well amazing.
