I beat this game the other night, and let mejust say, it's a SPECTACULAR one. The story is so engaging and emotional, plus there are plenty of puzzles and extra sidequests to do for at least 80 hours of gameplay.

The story follows the main character, Lloyd, and his friends Genis, Colette, and Professor Raine as they make a journey to regenerate the world. Colette is the "Chosen of Mana" and it is her job to regenerate the world of Sylverant with mana (Sound like FFX? Well don't worry, its own story develops.)

The style of the game is cell shaded, pure anime style, complete with several excellent anime cutscenes. They should make a show out of this game, for serious. The voice overs and probably the best I've heard outside of the MGS series..

But the true winner in this game is the battle system. It's a blend of fighter and RPG, with live, non-turnbased fighting. As much as skill plays a role, so does strategy and teamwork. One of the best aspects of this game is the ability for a friend to play with you in the battle system, each using one character. I played the whole game using Lloyd, and my friend used the closeted homosexual Zelos ;P. The AI for the characters you don't use is exceptional.

Has anyone else played this? If you haven't, I highly recomend this. Maybe I'm just crazy, but for some reason I just loved it. If you odn't have a gamecube, you should borrow one or look for the game on an emulator. It's really worth playing.

I'm waiting patiently for Tales of Legendia on Revolution!!

Ummm Legendia(who came up with that title) is coming out on the PS2. And yeah, the game rules. I'm near the end. Although, I don't think the story is really emotional, mainly because the character's voices never show alot of emotion. Otherwise, its great.

I loved this game, especially the battle system! Battles feel like you're playing a 2D fighting game, really awesome!
Took me 60+ hours to beat, not too bad for a RPG.

I got about halfway through this game then I had to stop due to school or work or something. I'm hoping to finish it sometime this year.

I'm at 90+ hours, but there were instances where I let the game stay on while I had to do something. Either way, its a long game. BTW Hi Pirato! lol

Yeah I played this game quite a bit and it is really fun. The story was pretty "save the world" generic, but I enjoyed it. The battle system is the best thing about the game and you could play it real time or pause it and break down each character's moves individually. I liked the fact that I could play it while I was in FFXI pretty easily because the Wavebird is the best wireless controller in existence.

Really the Wavebird has me totally pumped more about Nintendo's console going all wireless controllers than the PS3 or Xbox360 having wireless controllers. This is due to the fact that I know for a fact Nintendo has proven themselves in the wireless controller department to be superior than their competitors. The third party controllers for xbox and ps2 are all shit compared to the Wavebird. I see no delay in combos or moves playing a fighting game like Soulcalibur 2 on the Wavebird, but on the other console's wireless controllers it is a different story altogether.

Haha, the wavebird rules. I borrowed one once and I was able to play supposedly sitting on my toilet in my bathroom; [All Right!]
