Yeah.... well the topic is the new Nintendo Revolution (for which there is no real hardware)... I am excited about the possiblities with all the next generation consoles. Only the Xbox360 did a actual launch at E3 because it was the only true running system. Sony and Nintendo had pictures of systems and sony had some specs, but neither had anything more than "vaporware". All the demos sony had were running on development kits (which are PCs built for coding for the new console). There is no real PS3 yet (it is all pictures and empty stat sheets made as a rebuttal to MS introducing an actual working system), but the Xbox360 was running actual games.

Why argue about handhelds? PSP is cool, but it is too expensive and has only a couple games worth buying (no good real RPGs yet). Nintendo DS might be behind PSP graphically, but I liked my GBA SP just fine and now Nintendo has a new handheld entirely with new technology and plays the GBA games to boot. Really I don't like Sony because everything I have bought from them has broken down and turned to shit in a short matter of time. I like handhelds to be reliable, even moreso than actual consoles. I know 2 people irl who have PSPs, one barely plays his and the other person had to send his back to sony (its UMD drive was screwed up).

Concerns about Nintendo stagnating creativity wise are well founded, because some of Nintendo's star franchises have become a little stale with their sequels. Just too bad Nintendo makes games that are actually fun and don't have to rely on "adult" themes to make dumbass kids buy them like GTA. It would be nice if certain people did not have to sell games by making GTA clones, Halo "killers", DMC clones, etc... really who the hell is all that original and innovative. Yeah Sony sells alot of games, but some of their biggest sellers are not really good games. GTA (hasn't changed much since 3 really), FF (well lets not go there fanboys), Madden (man this game hasn't changed fundamentally in forever), and platformers that wish they were as good as anything Nintendo has put out.

btw Ponuh it doesn't matter what you think about Mikey's posts. He is 500X more relevant than you on threads and in addition he is a mod so Mikey > you anyway.

You know i think both systems will stay on the market for there own reasons. First and foremost, psp is more geared towards adults. Nintendo however is towards children and people who love playing classic and still original games. 2 different markets if i do think so myself.

i agree with mikey, my uncle loves nintendo for their childish games, hes a grown man on the outside but will always stay 10 on the inside, everytime we have some kind of family get together no one can ever find him because his in the back room with my little brothers playing mario party, then we have my grandpa who is the biggest computer/gaming guy i know IRL, he is more into the xbox and playstation, but he is just as crazy about them as my uncle.

i guess what im saying is i think you will see GC,REVO,PSP,PS2,PS3,Xbox and Xbox 360 games on sale for years to come, you can even still get NES games at a local gaming store still.

the gaming business is a great business to be in if you do it right. nintendo targets younger players, xbox and playstation targets older, the only reason sega went down is because they tried to cover all over and it jes didnt last. (im not bringing down the genesis, saturn, or dreamcast in any way)

Yeah Sefier, just stop posting all this nonsense. Everyone other then you has pretty summed up the "real" facts. I work for a game company and numbers really doesn't matter, it comes down to the actual opinions of the buyers. Do you know that a large factor in a game selling well is because of the hype, advertisment, recommendation from others, etc. etc. That does NOT decree a good game all the time. If you want to talk about re-hashing just look at the Madden series. This game series alone will sell millions the first day of launch even if they make no noticable changes to graphics or game play. First of all, few people realize right now that Madden will be the only official football game of next season and also people will just buy it for the improved rosters. And yet, just like every other Madden game to date, hundreds will get traded in long before or right before the next season. Does this make this series good?

I'm just saying shut up about this debate over which YOU think is better. You have done nothing but prove you have no idea about the realistic side of the gaming community, all you see are the charts and interviews and the same thing companies feed you to make you believe one thing or another. I've already stated my views on both handhelds and I'd like to remain neutral as both systems have great lineups I am looking very forward to. I'm 19 years old and I damn well will be playing anything from Kirby to Grand Theft Auto, it's just what I like, and not everything I like can be found on a sole system.

Seifer, you're an idiot.

Recent analysts have put the Xbox 360, at launch, at a 60-70 dollar loos per console sold. While that's actually a bit better than the original X-box, you have to understand that form a normal business standpoint, the entire X-box division of Microsoft should have tanked and gone out of business a LONG time ago. The only reason it still exists, of course, it because of the massive funds pumped into it by Mr. Billy Gates. The system is NOT strong enough to survive on its own, PERIOD.

Nintendo, meanwhile, makes more profit as a company than SCEA itself. Worldwide DS vs. PSP figres are at about 6.3 million to 1.7 million, and as much as I love my DS, this is, quite literally, with ZERO system-selling games out for it so far. Coming up are classic franchises such as Zelda, an all-new 2-D Mario platformer, Mario and Luigi, Advance Wars, and Castlevania, which'll drive sales through the friggin' roof, as well as out-of-the-box games like Nintendogs (highest selling game in Japan for well over a month) and Electroplankton. I'm not a PSP basher, but at the current time, it doesn't have anything on the horizon to boost its sales anymore than what we've already seen.

The Nintendo Revolution doesn't have much info out on it yet, I admit. But the ultimate in backwards compatibility, sleek design, and FINALLY online-accessible, it's lookin' good. And Super Smash Bros. Online? I'd buy the damn system if that was the only game that ever game out for it.

Your narrow-minded, idiotic views are what's driving the industry away from creativity and innovation. Morons like you would be happy with Halo 17 and Grand Theft Auto 34: Boca Raton the rest of their lives, because you're too "cool" to play a game like Mario or Super Monkey Ball (which, by the way, is an excellent game).

Oh, and why the hell were you comparing Sega to the original NES? SNES was its competitor, and easily won the war in that particular generation. So shut the hell up.

This thread is funny. But, i do believe games are a tad bit too violent, but I do play both kinds. The kind meant for younger audiences and the type for older people. I do not, however, believe in the word "kiddish." Just something about it doesn't feel right. It usually comes from people thinking "I'm now 20+ I can't play this crap its for kids. Who cares if its great fun, i'll ruin my awesome reputation!!" lol.

This is just my Opinion
i like the PSP over the DS for 2 reasons

1) the DS is hard to hold while trying to use the pen and everything and when i use the strap thingy it sorta hurts my wrist
2) The PSP can be used for not only games but it can hold music videos and pictures

for the next gen systems im gonna probably get a PS3 because it has so many of the games that i like like the Metal Gear series and the FF series
