Yeah I'm downloading it now. Probably gonna buy a new video card for BF2 since I'm not sure a Radeon 9700 Pro will cut it. If I do that though I say goodbye to FFXI since I'm not going to be spending 397498 bucks on something for a game that won't even use it.

Looks like I'm gonna need to get a job this summer so I can afford a system that can run this shit properly

Dont go by the system specs, I have 256 ram, minimum is 512.

It runs amazingly smooth for my ram, and this IS the best game I have ever played.

Bleh, I don't like it. The textures seem weak even with forced 2x AA and 16x Aniso, especially since I just got done playing HL2 at those very same settings and it looked great.

Just not my type of game I guess. Gonna cancel my preorder and format my HD and get back into FFXI once again I suppose :P

You're saying the game sucks because the textures aren't great with Ansi and AA? lol.

I didn't say it sucked, I said the textures are weak for a game that's supposed to be based on the Source engine. It's just not my type of game... it's too easy with modern combat stuff since it autolocks onto targets and you don't even have to aim :P I liked old school BF1942 since you had to have some skill to bomb targets or arc tank shells to hit what you wanted them to.

I'm not entirely sure how modern those weapons are but they can't be just aiming for you lol.

I'm sick of WW2 fps games though, someone needs to invent a new popular era of history. So i'm still downloading it but I'm gonna play it a little anyway, just a demo so it can't hurt. :P

I liked the look of that Enemy Territory (Quake Wars?) sequel thing, mostly because ET was one of the only WW2 fps games i actually liked cuz it was implemented really really well.

No I've just been playing HL2 over again since it's one of the best FPS games ever :P I didn't want to feel like I wasted 700+ bucks on new system components just to play FFXI, but since everything else but a few games I've already played sucks ass I guess I'll just start playing FFXI solely again until something decent comes out.

The one thing I hated about the BF2 demo was the shittiness of the trees/grass compared to the publicity shots they took that were probably touched up. When palm trees look better in FFXI than in a modern game that supposedly uses the HL2 source engine... well, something is wrong :P
