I think this isn't going to be so bad. It will hurt those newbie nins that suck and think all they need to tank is shadows and voke. But for endgame nins that have all that +enm in merits, and gear, I don't see this being a huge deal. and for those who sub nin this is actually a good thing.

As far as the rangers for HNM they aren't melee'n it ever really anyways. so just means you find a good place to stand when you shoot. I think it will be interesting, but not totally horrible.

And i know alot of PLD that liked the new shield update since thiers was capped and they put on some gear enhancing it more. But that's the thing with the game is everyone likes to play different and nothing wrong with that =o)

Personally I think the shield update was awesome...

My shield skill is 3 levels from cap now, I have some merits on it too and I usually have a bit of extra shield gear on. I can block T-VT at a pretty consistant rate, like every 1/2-1/3 hits on a T-VT. If it's an EP-DC i'd probably block almost every hit.

The Koenig Shield will block about 60%-70% damage too, which means when you block that often it blows an Earth Staff and it's "-20%" clear out of the water.

the thing that made the most sense to me for the rng's is that if the mob is really close u have higher acc and attack and if its really far u have lower acc and attack (that would make the most sense to me seeing as how its harder to hit a target the farther it is and u lose power the greater the distance)

I think that's a pretty smart update on the shadow stuff. Now it will be more of a challenge for NINs to tank. Doesn't mean they can't tank, but now it'll be more of a thought process and managing hate properly rather than just hitting the Utsi macro every so often. Doesn't stop me from wanting to level NIN later on.

haha why does SE continually make players weaker and weaker to balance. i wanna see them make the nerfed jobs stronger

IMO that ranger stuff isn't a "nerf" the very definition of a ranger is someone who attacks via ranged attacks and they are most effective when using ranged attacks from a distance rather than just standing next to the mob for extra TP from melee weapons.

I never said DRK sucked. I am a DRK. I think I kick ass. But the general populace doesn't seem to think so, and getting an invite these days is the biggest pain in the ass in the game. Generally every DD except for DRG is chosen over a DRK after 60ish, for some reason unknown to me, that's all I was saying. = P

SAM/RNG kick ass, BTW.

Did you ever try to shoot something that is trying to hit you while you swing 2 axes at it at the same time. I would think it would somehow lower your accuracy.

they shoudl make it that rng can only use ranged attacks would be kinda cool running around with a bow on your back

well, if you've ever been hit with an airsoft gun it kinda makes sense... if you're amazingly close (i.e. gun against your body) it doesn't hurt as much as if the person backs up a little bit... but too far and the "bullet" starts to slow down... so there is a distance that it would balance out... makes sense that way too

yea actually it doesnt nerf rng damage potential just means now they gotta have some skill to play the job (lol may not apply to some)

but nin's can become awsome DD's if they focus all there gear on attacking and blow some big numbers then they gradually loose hate from shadows if they turned hate
