I was browsing some forums and more than one person has confirmed this:



Alot of people are saying the Ninja and Ranger nerf is in light of these new jobs. I'm not 100% positive this is true but some people have read it in some Famitsu Magazine interview with the lead developers. If anyone can find the interview and translate it please post it here.

I saw a translation of one of the interviews a while back.

Said something like

"There will be new jobs that play somewhat differently to existing jobs."

and when he was asked about chances of new Avatars, he said

"hehe"

Which people are taking as a chance there probably will be.

I've heard nothing about a new second interview though.

Even though its like waaay late in the game to be adding new jobs.

And even if they did the exact same crap as another job.

No matter How trivial the quest is to get it, even if its something as dumb and easy as the RNG or BRD quest.

I'd still play it cuz its "new".

As far as avatars goes...I could always use more Glowly things for my uber lvl-5 SMN, I only have Garuda and Shiva and I pretty much leeched those from an LS group. (I did damage but it wasn't what I would consider good and I felt gimpy).

The rumor that new jobs will be added with the xbox360 release has been going around for a while now.
I wouldn't say it's late, sure FFXI has been running for almost 3 years now but it probably still has another 5-10 years to go. It's not surprising that they add new things to keep their customers interested.

they should work on an new and improved FF MMORPG. with lots of jobs and no restrictions due to the PS2...if they made one I would play both XD

only one thing i ask for is a option to inprove the graphics beyond the 1026 x 1026 or w/e it is, i want more detail and more flashy pretty stuff.

You haven't even done over half the game yet. Why do you need new stuff? I think the people who are complaining are people who are done with everything.

how do you know what i have and have not completed? jes because im not lvl 75 doesnt mean i havent done anything...
i mean yea, i havent done dynamis on "ike", but what makes you think i havent done dynamis at all? yaw ike is kinda down and low, but i do have friends and i do have their account info. i have done plenty of raids, a few gods or w/e done all teh promys, but thats not really even the point

just like you man im getting bored of the game, its to repedative, same things every day, all i said is if there isnt somthing that catches my intrest in the next update then im done. i dont really need to tell you thing,be cause i know you know what i mean, "there is no adventure in FFXI"

By the way, Arim, the resolution can be increased beyond 1024 by 1024. You need to go into the game registry to do it. I did it on my old desktop, which had power to spare, but these days on my laptop I just leave it as is. Anyway, I forget exactly how, but I'm sure you can find it online somewhere. = P

they're adding new jobs, just stfu and take it. im an ass, so booyah. anyways, i was really looking forward to this update before i requit... if anyone is interested in the job types coming out, or the new avatars, go play ff1 or fft, because everything is based from the history of those games or other ancient cultures. i wont even post my thoughts here because with my luck they'll be wrong, so lets leave it to your own thoughts for now. hell, it's gonna leak soon, so hold on.

12:10 In the latest issue of Famitsu - the magazine it's almost worth learning Japanese to read - Hiromichi Tanaka, senior VP at Square and all around Final Fantasy guru - has been talking about the next-gen console version - or versions - of Final Fantasy XI.

According to Tanaka-san, there will be new spells, new jobs, and a whole bunch of other additional content in the game, as well as double the draw distance of the current PC version. A beta test is said to be starting soon too, though how exactly this is going to work without lots of Xbox 360s is as yet undisclosed.

In the "shocking revelations" department, Tanaka also revealed that - depending on whether or not it'll have a hard drive (we're betting a big yes for that one), the Sony Playstation 3 might also be in line for a version too, leading to some direct competition over one of the only truly successful console MMOs.
